Privacy Policy

ForkSight is a training companion for chess players who use Chess.com. It provides puzzle practice, post-game coach review, and profile statistics. ForkSight is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Chess.com. This policy explains what data the ForkSight browser extension and the forksight.net service collect, why, and how it is handled.

ForkSight does not analyze, assist, or influence games you are actively playing. It does not sell your data, does not run ads, and does not use your data for advertising or for any purpose unrelated to providing the service.

1. Information we collect

Account data — the username, password (stored only as a salted hash), and optional email address you provide when you create a ForkSight account.
Chess.com username (optional) — if you choose to link your Chess.com account, so we can import your finished games for analysis and puzzle generation.
Game & puzzle data — PGNs of your finished games (imported from public Chess.com data), the analyses you request, and your puzzle-solving statistics.
Authentication tokens — JWT access and refresh tokens stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage) to keep you signed in.
Notification analytics — an anonymous, randomly generated identifier used only to count whether an in-app notification was shown or clicked. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking across sites.
Coach voice text — when you enable the optional voice coach, the short coaching text is sent to our text-to-speech provider to generate audio.

2. How we use your information

To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
To import and analyze your finished games and generate training puzzles and post-game reviews.
To display your profile statistics, achievements and leaderboard.
To provide the optional spoken coach feedback.
To manage premium membership and usage limits.

3. Third parties

We share data with third parties only as needed to provide the service:

ElevenLabs — receives only the short coaching text needed to synthesize voice audio, when you enable the voice coach.
GitHub Sponsors — used to process premium membership. Payment is handled by GitHub; we receive only the sponsorship status needed to grant your membership.

We never sell or rent your personal data to anyone.

4. Storage & security

Your account and game data are stored on our server at forksight.net. All communication between the extension and the server uses HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Authentication tokens are kept locally in your browser and are removed when you sign out.

5. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can sign out at any time to clear locally stored tokens. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.

6. Children

ForkSight is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.

Oyun ve bulmaca verileri — biten oyunlarınızın PGN'leri (Chess.com'un herkese açık verisinden), talep ettiğiniz analizler ve bulmaca çözüm istatistikleriniz.
Kimlik doğrulama jetonları — oturumunuzu açık tutmak için tarayıcınızda yerel olarak saklanan JWT erişim ve yenileme jetonları.
Bildirim istatistiği — yalnızca bir uygulama içi bildirimin gösterilip gösterilmediğini/tıklanıp tıklanmadığını saymak için kullanılan, rastgele üretilmiş anonim bir tanımlayıcı. Kimliğinizle ilişkilendirilmez ve siteler arası takip için kullanılmaz.
Koç sesi metni — isteğe bağlı sesli koçu etkinleştirdiğinizde, kısa koçluk metni ses üretmek için metinden-sese sağlayıcımıza gönderilir.

2. Bilgileri nasıl kullanırız

Kimliğinizi doğrulamak ve oturumunuzu açık tutmak için.
Biten oyunlarınızı içe aktarıp analiz etmek, antrenman bulmacaları ve oyun sonrası incelemeler üretmek için.
Profil istatistiklerinizi, başarımlarınızı ve liderlik tablosunu göstermek için.
İsteğe bağlı sesli koç geri bildirimini sunmak için.
Premium üyeliği ve kullanım limitlerini yönetmek için.

3. Üçüncü taraflar

Verileri yalnızca hizmeti sağlamak için gerektiği kadar paylaşırız:

ElevenLabs — sesli koçu etkinleştirdiğinizde yalnızca ses sentezi için gereken kısa koçluk metnini alır.
GitHub Sponsors — premium üyeliği işlemek için kullanılır. Ödeme GitHub tarafından yürütülür; biz yalnızca üyeliğinizi tanımlamak için gereken sponsorluk durumunu alırız.

Kişisel verilerinizi asla satmaz veya kiralamayız.

4. Depolama ve güvenlik

Hesap ve oyun verileriniz forksight.net sunucumuzda saklanır. Eklenti ile sunucu arasındaki tüm iletişim HTTPS kullanır. Şifreler yalnızca tuzlanmış özet olarak saklanır. Kimlik doğrulama jetonları tarayıcınızda yerel olarak tutulur ve çıkış yaptığınızda silinir.

5. Verinin saklanması ve silinmesi

Verilerinizi hesabınız aktif olduğu sürece saklarız. Yerel olarak saklanan jetonları temizlemek için istediğiniz zaman çıkış yapabilirsiniz. Hesabınızın ve ilişkili verilerin silinmesini talep etmek için aşağıdaki adresten bize ulaşın; verileri kaldıracağız.

6. Çocuklar

ForkSight 13 yaşından küçük çocuklara yönelik değildir ve bilerek onlardan kişisel bilgi toplamayız.

7. Politikadaki değişiklikler

Bu politikayı zaman zaman güncelleyebiliriz. Önemli değişiklikler yukarıdaki “Son güncelleme” tarihi güncellenerek yansıtılır.
